Rainbow Cake – Best Rainbow Cake with Rich’s Butter Creme: This Rainbow Swirl Cake or Rainbow cake is made with three layers of homemade rainbow cake, then decorated with rainbow swirl frosting around the edges! It’s a moist, delicious cake that’s easy to make and perfect for a celebration.
Rainbow cakes are not only beautiful and colourful, but it also tastes heavenly. Made from my famous homemade vanilla premix recipe and easy buttercream, this rainbow cake makes the perfect special occasion cake!
I used the homemade vanilla premix again to make this recipe and by now you might be knowing how obsessed I’m with this easy homemade Premix. It makes like so easy when you have something readily available, which indeed is made by you.
I always use non-dairy whipping cream to decorate the cakes, but for the very first time, I used Rich’s butter creme. The butter creme was sweet than the usually whipped cream frosting. I like the taste though!
Though I made this cake for the very first time I had so much fun making it. I don’t use a lot of colours on my cakes but this time I used a lot. But result in the gorgeous-looking cake.
What makes this Rainbow cake special?
This rainbow cake makes me feel so good. I LOVED slicing into it to see all those beautiful colourful sponge! The best part is, this rainbow cake isn’t just for looks, it tastes amazingly delicious. You won’t have a crumb leftover.

- 1+1/4 cup homemade vanilla Premix
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp oil
- 5 different food colour of your choice for cake and frosting
- 1 cup Rich’s butter creme
