To get the right texture I have used different ingredients from gelatin, agar agar, meringue powder, cream and so on and yes I failed badly. I almost gave up of making or trying to make homemade fondant but I couldn’t stop my itch of experimenting. As the saying goes ” And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”.
Homemade Rolled Fondant Ingredients
Corn Syrup and glycerin can be found at most cake decorating supply stores or online. In place of corn syrup, you can use glucose syrup.
Besides, my big problem with store-bought fondant, if it’s right, it’s expensive, and if it’s cheap, it tastes like chalk. So often, we cake decorators say, “ah well, you don’t have to eat it.” Just peel it away. And yet, the truth is that kids love eating sugar paste. So if you use it on kids’ cakes – guess what? Ingredients for No Gelatin No Agar Vegan Homemade Fondant
500 grams of powdered sugar
1/2 tbsp Tylose powder
1/2 tsp Xanthum gum
1/4 cup corn syrup
2+1/2 tbsp water
1/2 tbsp Margarine
1/2 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 tsp glycerine
