One of the most famous bread of Hyderabad is the Dil Khush which is also called as masala bread. This recipe is very easy. I browed internet a lot to understand what makes Dil Khush so interesting and how it is authentically made. After lot of research I got to know that dil Khush is made using the cake crust and is then combined with other ingredients and is stuffed in a bread dough and is baked slowly so that the bread and the stuffing inside is cooked well.

I belong to the city of Nizams (Hyderabad) and this is one of the best bread to east if you ever visit Hyderabad. And that is the reason I named the recipe as Hyderabad’s famous Dil Khush/ Masala bread. I have been eating the masala bread from childhood and from one of the famous and oldest bakery in Hyderabad that is ‘Karachi Bakery’. Ingredients
1+1/2 cups of maida/flour
3/4 cups of water
Cake crust (1 cup)
1/2 cup desicated coconut
1+1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
1/4 cup tutti fruity
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon bread improver (optional)
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Warm the water and add yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar
  2. Mix well and let the yeast proof for about 10 minutes
  3. Meanwhile take to the crust add desicated coconut,tuti fruti, remaining sugar and mix well
  4. Add little water and make a dough
  5. Take a large mixing bowl and add flour,yeas mixture,salt and mix well and make a dough
  6. Now add litlli oil and knead the Dough for 10 minutes
  7. Drizzle oil and let the dough proof for 1.5 hours or till the dough doubles in size
  8. After 1.5 hours knead the dough well once again
  9. Grease the baking pan with oil and spread the dough in the pan
  10. Now put the masala and bring the corners of the dough and seal it
  11. Next give the Dough a shap, PatingP on it
  12. Apply oil and bake @ pre heated 230 degrees Celsius for about 20-25 minutes or till the crust become brown
